Job Description:

Support the implementation and enhancement of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) frameworks to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks while strengthening organizational resilience and continuity capabilities.

Job Title: Operational Risk Management

Band/ Grade: 3 (Based on candidate fitment)

Reporting To: Head Operational Risk (with no direct reports)

Department: Risk - CRO unit

Locations hiring for: Mohan Estate Office (ME)

State: Delhi

Job Responsibilities:

Operational Risk Management:

- Support implementation and maintenance of ORM policies, frameworks, and governance processes.

- Facilitate Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercises across business and support functions.

- Monitor and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), identify trends, and escalate threshold breaches.

- Manage Operational Risk Incident and Loss Event reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.

- Conduct control design and effectiveness reviews and recommend process improvements.

- Develop risk dashboards, MIS, and reports for Senior Management, Risk Committees, and regulators.

- Support risk assessments for new products, processes, technology changes, and outsourcing arrangements.

- Coordinate with Business, Compliance, Audit, Technology, and Operations teams on risk mitigation initiatives.

Business Continuity Management & Operational Resilience:

- Support implementation and periodic review of the BCM Framework, Policy, and Procedures.

- Coordinate Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).

- Facilitate BCP testing, tabletop exercises, and Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.

- Support crisis management activities and incident response coordination.

- Assess business continuity preparedness of critical vendors and outsourced service providers.

- Assist in identifying critical business services, dependencies, recovery objectives (RTO/RPO), and resilience requirements.

- Track remediation actions arising from BCM and resilience assessments.

Regulatory & Governance:

- Support implementation of RBI and regulatory requirements related to Operational Risk and Business Continuity.

- Assist in regulatory reporting, audits, risk committee presentations, and governance reviews.

Other Responsibilities:

- Learn and develop skills and capabilities to support and address operational risk.

- Participate in discussions with relevant stakeholders, ensuring ORM alignment with the business agenda.

- Ensure to work effectively and proactively with business teams and industry participants to advise and assist in the management of risk and compliance matters.

- Ensure KPI or plans are tracked and met.

- Process mapping.

- Ability to prioritize amongst many conflicting needs, advocate a course of action, and pursue it consistently, while remaining flexible and responsive to dynamic situations.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and innovatively and proven track record for delivering results.

- Strong ability to source, manage and analyse data to drive risk management strategies and decisions.

- High energy and a desire to work in a results and team oriented, rapid growth environment.

Eligibility Criteria for the Job:

Education:

Graduate / Postgraduate MBA / ORM PG Certification

Work Experience:

At least 8 - 12 years of experience in ORM or BCM in a large BFSI organization for Retail and corporate lending business. (ORM experience in Insurance/investment/Wealth Management/IT, IS/other fields or in business & operations to be excluded)

Primary Skill:

- Superior knowledge of Retail, SME and Corporate lending business functions and associated principles.

- Good knowledge of risk management practices and relevant regulations applicable to Operational Risk. Control testing experience.

- Intermediate Knowledge of Credit, Enterprise risk, underwriting, analytical models, credit process, fraud risk, third party risk, Governance.

Technical Skills:

- Advanced excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.

- Proficiency in enterprise risk platforms like Service Now, RSA Archer, MetricStream, or similar.

- Familiarity with tools for RCSA, KRI tracking, and incident reporting.

- Knowledge of control design, testing methodologies, and control libraries.

- Understanding of RBI operational risk guidelines and other relevant regulations.

- Working knowledge of data analytical tools would be added advantage.

Management Skills:

- Professional, organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success, if any.

- Ability to work independently and demonstrate team skills along with stakeholder management.

- Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload, recommend changes in office practices or procedures.

- Ability to discern issues, escalate as needed and manage day to day operational issues.

- Should be comfortable with adapting and changing situations, incomplete information, and uncertainty; must be flexible and adaptable.

- Strong strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking skills. Proven ability to plan and manage operational risk processes, develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.

Soft Skills:

- Fluent in English, Hindi and preferably one regional language.

- Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

- Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings, ensuring an open and cooperative environment.

- Collaborate and build partnerships. Influence and inspire others.

- Lead change and seek continuous improvement through Solution based holistic thinking, planning and execution.
