Role Overview:

As an Associate - Legal Mortgage (LAP), you will be responsible for ensuring the legal soundness and compliance of Loan Against Property (LAP) transactions in Ahmedabad and Jaipur. You will work closely with the credit, operations, and sales teams to mitigate legal risks associated with mortgage lending. Your role will be crucial in safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, contributing directly to the efficiency and security of the LAP portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough legal due diligence on property documents submitted for LAP applications to verify ownership, encumbrances, and compliance with local regulations.

- Prepare and review legal documents, including mortgage deeds, title search reports, and other relevant agreements, ensuring accuracy and completeness to protect the company's interests.

- Coordinate with empanelled advocates and external legal counsel to obtain legal opinions and resolve complex legal issues related to property titles and mortgage transactions.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to LAP transactions to minimize legal risks and maintain regulatory compliance.

- Manage and maintain legal documentation related to LAP transactions, ensuring proper record-keeping and accessibility for audit and compliance purposes.

- Provide legal guidance and support to the credit, operations, and sales teams on matters related to property law, mortgage regulations, and legal risk management to facilitate informed decision-making.

- Monitor and track legal developments and regulatory changes related to mortgage lending and property law, and update internal policies and procedures accordingly to ensure compliance.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrate expertise in property law, mortgage regulations, and legal due diligence processes related to Loan Against Property (LAP).

- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex legal issues related to property titles and mortgage transactions.

- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal teams, external legal counsel, and customers.

- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

- Display the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Demonstrate adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and willingness to travel within the assigned region (Ahmedabad and Jaipur).

- Possess 3-7 years of relevant experience in LAP legal processes.
