Senior Manager - Supply Planning & Inventory Control

About the Role:

The Manager - Supply Planning & Inventory Controls will own end-to-end demand planning, production planning, inventory management, and distribution planning across retail, e-commerce, and distribution channels. The role is responsible for translating demand into optimized production and replenishment plans while ensuring high product availability, healthy inventory, and cost efficiency.

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance, the role drives S&OP, manages production schedules, inventory health (RM, WIP & FG), DC replenishment, and planning analytics. This is a high-ownership role requiring strong planning expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to balance service levels, working capital, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual demand planning using historical trends, seasonality, promotions, and business inputs.

- Drive S&OP cycles by aligning demand, supply, production, and inventory plans across functions.

- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules while balancing capacity, raw material availability, shelf life, and channel priorities.

- Own inventory planning across Raw Materials (RM), Work-in-Progress (WIP), Finished Goods (FG), and Distribution Centres by managing safety stock, reorder points, inventory norms, ageing, and SLOB reduction.

- Plan inventory deployment and replenishment across retail, e-commerce, and distribution channels to maintain high product availability while optimizing working capital.

- Monitor and improve key planning KPIs including Forecast Accuracy, OTIF, Fill Rate, Schedule Adherence, Service Levels, Capacity Utilization, DOH, Inventory Turns & Write-offs.

- Identify supply chain risks including supplier disruptions, production delays, import lead-time variability, and demand fluctuations, while developing contingency plans.

- Build dashboards, MIS reports, and planning analytics to provide real-time visibility into production, inventory, and distribution performance.

- Drive continuous improvement by strengthening ERP-led planning processes, reducing manual Excel dependency, and improving planning automation.

- Act as the planning lead across Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance & effective stakeholder management.

Qualifications & Skills:

- 810 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, or Production Planning.

- Minimum 3-4 years leading production planning within an FMCG/Consumer Goods environment.

- Strong experience managing omnichannel demand across Retail, E-commerce, and Distribution.

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, o9, or similar), Advanced Excel, and planning tools.

- Strong understanding of S&OP, demand forecasting, production scheduling, inventory optimization, DRP, and multi-DC planning.

- Experience managing high-SKU portfolios, imported finished goods, long lead times, and planning system improvements is highly preferred.

- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a high ownership mindset.
