Role: Head/President - Banking & Institutional Relationship Management

About the Role:

We are looking to onboard a senior leader to anchor and strengthen institutional relationships with leading PSU banks and financial institutions for a large, diversified Indian business group with significant presence in the power and infrastructure sector.

This role will be critical in driving lender engagement, enabling seamless execution of financing transactions, and supporting upcoming large-scale expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and drive the overall banking and lender engagement strategy

- Build and deepen relationships with PSU banks and financial institutions at MD / DMD / CGM levels

- Lead strategic discussions, negotiations, and deal closures for high-value financing transactions

- Ensure strong alignment between funding strategy, capital structure, and business growth plans

- Improve turnaround time, responsiveness, and coordination across banking partners

- Oversee a team of Relationship Managers managing defined lender portfolios

- Support fundraising, refinancing, and structured finance initiatives

- Act as a key advisor to leadership on banking strategy and institutional engagement

Ideal Candidate Profile:

25+ years of experience in:

- Banking relationship management

- Project finance / corporate finance

- Institutional lending

Strong preference for candidates from:

- Power sector

- Infrastructure / EPC / heavy engineering

- Must have deep, active relationships with PSU banks and institutions such as SBI, PFC, IIFCL, etc.

Proven ability to:

- Engage with senior stakeholders across banks

- Handle large and complex lender portfolios

- Drive closure of high-value financing transactions

Key Competencies:

- Strategic thinking and stakeholder management

- Strong negotiation and influencing skills

- High credibility with institutional lenders

- Ability to operate at Board / Chairman level

Reporting Structure:

- Direct reporting to the Chairman / Group Leadership
