Head - Weaving Operations

Description:

Job Objective - Head of Weaving is responsible for overseeing and optimizing weaving operations. The primary purpose is to ensure the achievement of production targets, optimize Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in the weaving section, minimize average weft breakage, effectively manage absenteeism, and monitor work-in-progress (WIP) inventory to ensure it aligns with operational timelines. The Head of Weaving leads teams to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and quality in the weaving processes.

Key Responsibilities Areas -

- Collaborate with production planning to implement weaving production targets.

- Monitor and analyze actual weaving output, identifying variances, and implementing measures to achieve or exceed targets.

- Optimize weaving processes to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.

- Assess and optimize Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) specifically within the weaving section.

- Identify factors affecting equipment performance, implement preventive maintenance schedules, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize OEE.

- Monitor and minimize average weft breakage incidents during weaving.

- Analyze root causes and implement preventive measures to reduce weft breakage.

- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address mechanical issues affecting looms.

- Monitor and manage employee attendance within the weaving department.

- Implement strategies to minimize absenteeism, including effective communication, recognition programs, and addressing underlying issues.

- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) inventory, specifically identifying items exceeding the 14-day threshold.

- Implement inventory management strategies to ensure timely processing and prevent overstocking or delays.

- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize WIP inventory levels.

Role Requirements - Qualifications and Competencies -

- Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

- Proven experience in weaving operations and management.

- Strong understanding of production planning, OEE optimization, weft breakage reduction, and team management.
