Head - Visual Merchandising - Food Business
Description:
Role Overview
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Head of Visual Merchandising (VM) to lead the brands visual identity and customer experience across all retail formats. The ideal candidate will bring strong design sensibility, an understanding of premium/luxury retail aesthetics, and the ability to translate brand storytelling into compelling visual experiences that drive engagement and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Strategy & Brand Expression:
- Define and execute the visual merchandising strategy aligned with the brands positioning and retail vision.
- Develop store layouts, window concepts, and in-store displays that enhance storytelling and product appeal.
- Ensure brand consistency across all stores and new retail formats.
Design & Execution:
- Conceptualize and implement seasonal, thematic, and product-driven displays that bring freshness to stores.
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and category teams to develop visual campaigns that reflect ongoing promotions and new product launches.
- Oversee sourcing and production of all VM elements props, fixtures, signage, and digital displays.
Store Development & Rollout:
- Partner with the operations and projects teams on store design, planograms, and layout optimization for new and existing stores.
- Ensure all stores adhere to the brands visual guidelines and experience standards.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of regional VM executives and in-store display specialists.
- Build strong collaboration with retail, marketing, and design teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
Innovation & Insights:
- Stay updated with global trends in visual design, food retail presentation, and experiential retail.
- Leverage customer insights and analytics to optimize layouts and improve dwell time and conversion.
Desired Profile
- 10 to 15 years of experience in visual merchandising for retail, food, gourmet, lifestyle, or luxury brands.
- Strong eye for design, aesthetics, and brand storytelling.
- Experience managing large-scale rollouts and multi-location formats.
- Knowledge of materials, lighting, and design software is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and project management skills.
- Passion for food, design, and creating memorable customer experiences.
