Head - Transactional Banking

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Head of Transactional Banking to lead and scale the banks transactional banking portfolio across cash management, payments, collections, trade finance, and FX solutions.

You will drive transaction sales origination, share of wallet growth, product innovation, and client engagement - ensuring the bank becomes the transactional banking partner of choice in Malawi.

This role requires a strategic leader with strong market knowledge, impeccable execution skills, and the ability to drive product, portfolio, and process outcomes across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Product Management:

- Drive client engagements & grow transactional wallet share

- Analyze portfolios to boost CASA, throughput & revenue

- Track market trends & guide product strategy

- Suggest product innovations & digital solutions

- Ensure SOP/SLA compliance & measure KPIs

- Collaborate with RMs & TPS teams for targets

- Improve transaction journeys & reporting

Portfolio Management:

- Lead portfolio planning & deal execution

- Deliver cash management, payments, trade & FX solutions

- Identify new product opportunities (digitization, custodial, REITs)

- Strengthen value propositions & increase wallet share

- Resolve bottlenecks & drive revenue growth

- Embed a transaction-led culture & ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements:

- 8- 10+ yrs in Transaction Banking / Cash Management with proven success

- Expertise in cash, trade, FX & B2B payment solutions

- Strong knowledge of customer segmentation, market trends & competitors

- Proven corporate negotiation & client relationship skills

- Experience in digital/automated banking products (advantage)

- Analytical mindset with focus on portfolio growth & revenue drivers
