We are hiring a senior Total Rewards leader for a large, well-established Indian organization with an employee base of 3,000+.
Reporting to the Head HR Transformation, this is a high-impact role responsible for shaping the organizations compensation, benefits and rewards agenda. The position will lead a lean team of 12 members and requires someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the organizations Total Rewards strategy.
- Lead compensation benchmarking, salary structures, pay positioning and job architecture.
- Own the annual compensation review, including budgeting, modelling, guidelines, governance and implementation.
- Manage and forecast large compensation and benefits budgets in close partnership with Finance.
- Review and enhance employee benefits, insurance, wellness, retirement and other employee-value programs.
- Develop fixed-pay, variable-pay, recognition and critical-talent reward frameworks.
- Support executive compensation and retention-related decisions.
- Use market data and workforce analytics to identify pay gaps, affordability risks and talent priorities.
- Evaluate innovative non-cash benefits, strategic partnerships and alternative value-exchange arrangements.
- Establish strong governance across rewards policies, approvals, compliance, taxation and reporting.
- Advise senior business and HR leaders on complex compensation and benefits matters.
Candidate Profile:
- 12+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits or Total Rewards.
- Deep understanding of the Indian compensation, benefits and rewards ecosystem.
- Strong expertise in compensation benchmarking and interpretation of market-survey data.
- Demonstrated experience managing annual compensation cycles for a large employee population.
- Exceptional financial acumen, with significant experience in budgeting, forecasting and workforce-cost modelling.
- Strong understanding of benefits design, vendor management and program economics.
- Exposure to variable pay, executive compensation and critical-talent interventions.
- Ability to structure and evaluate non-cash benefits, partnerships or alternative reward mechanisms.
- Experience working with large, complex Indian organizations is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and a hands-on rewards practitioner.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior HR, Finance and business leaders.
- High levels of discretion, analytical rigor and professional judgment.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in a large Indian conglomerate, consumer-facing organization, media or digital business, or another complex multi-business environment.
- Postgraduate qualification in HR, Management, Finance, Economics or a related discipline from a premier institution.
- A combination of consulting and in-house rewards experience would be valuable.
- Candidates should possess a strong academic and professional track record.
