Role is remote based (preferably candidates from Pune or Bangalore)
Job Description:
- Lead and own the overall technology function, strategy, and roadmap for a high-impact public health nonprofit operating at national scale.
- Drive architecture, backend systems, ETL pipelines, infrastructure, integrations, and operational technology supporting millions of beneficiaries.
- Manage and strengthen large-scale SMS systems, data pipelines, dashboards, APIs, AI-powered tools, WhatsApp chatbots, IVRS flows, and external integrations.
- Lead technology decision-making across scale, reliability, cost optimisation, experimentation, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with programme, operations, monitoring & evaluation, leadership, and government stakeholders.
- Build, mentor, and manage the engineering and technology team while ensuring high standards of code quality and execution.
- Drive system scalability, data quality improvements, automation, and technology innovation for public health delivery.
- Ensure technology systems are compliant with data privacy, security, and evolving regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in technology roles with 45 years in leadership positions.
- Strong hands-on experience in backend systems, Python/other backend technologies, SQL, ETL pipelines, APIs, and scalable architecture.
- Experience managing production systems, infrastructure, integrations, and data-driven technology platforms at scale.
- Strong technical and architectural decision-making capabilities with execution-focused leadership.
- Experience managing engineering teams, code quality, reviews, hiring, mentoring, and delivery execution.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, resource-constrained, startup/nonprofit environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in public health, government systems, nonprofits, or data privacy/compliance frameworks is preferred.
