We have been mandated by our client, a well respected speciality chemicals business, to identify and onboard Global Head of Technical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans that improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and sustainability.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment by working closely with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to embed technical excellence into business strategies.
- Develop and maintain a long-term roadmap for Technical Excellence that aligns with organizational objectives, business growth, and operational priorities.
Industry Awareness:
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to keep the organization competitive.
Standards & Compliance:
- Define and implement robust standards, processes, and guidelines for manufacturing and quality systems across all businesses and geographies.
- Validate and rewrite SOPs for existing operations, moderating them to reflect best practices, regulatory requirements, and operational improvements.
- Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory frameworks, certifications, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing and quality systems.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks to manufacturing efficiency and product quality, and take measures to mitigate them.
- Develop preventive strategies and contingency plans to mitigate risks across technical operations.
- Regularly conduct audits and reviews to ensure early detection of inefficiencies, failures, or compliance breaches.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure products meet or exceed quality benchmarks.
- Implementation of IOT, Advance Analytics for process improvement & reduction of energy consumption.
- Validating and rewriting the SOP of existing operation and moderate the same to improve.
Engineering & Projects:
- Oversee engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within cost and quality parameters.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and safety standards.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Chemical engineer from a premium institute.
- Strong experience in continuous process plant.
- Continuous distillation and batch distillation operation, design, sizing and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with batch and continuous hydrogenation,Hydrogen plant operation.
- Automation implementation for continuous plant and batch plant & Experience in ETP design and operations.
- Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, ISO standards.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of process safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), TPM, Kaizen.
- Skilled in root cause analysis, problem-solving tools (FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel advanced, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Strong technical documentation and standard-setting skills.
