Head - Technical - Housing Finance Firm

Role Overview:

A Head of Technical in a housing finance company (HFC) leads collateral risk management, property valuation policies, and technical appraisal standards. This executive role oversees regional technical managers and external valuation agencies, ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding the loan portfolio against property-related defaults.

Policy & Strategy:

- Design and update technical valuation policies, construction cost guidelines, and property risk parameters aligned with NHB/RBI mandates.

Vendor Governance:

- Empanel, audit, and manage national and regional networks of technical valuation and legal-technical agencies.

Project Approval:

- Oversee legal-technical due diligence and monitoring for builder projects and Approved Project Financial (APF) statuses.

Risk Mitigation:

- Conduct sample audits of high-value or stressed asset valuations to limit risk exposure and marketability drop-offs.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Partner with Credit, Risk, Legal, and Collections heads to streamline turnaround times (TAT).
