Prayogtvisha is building a high-impact education platform focused on improving learning outcomes in K-12 education at scale, particularly in low-resource settings. The model integrates content, assessment, and remediation to drive measurable improvements in student learning.

A core pillar of this approach is systematically improving teacher effectiveness through structured assessment, targeted development, and continuous performance tracking.

Role Overview:

- We are hiring a Head of Teacher Development to design and build a comprehensive teacher assessment, remediation, training, and certification system. The role exists to drive measurable improvement in student learning outcomes through systematic improvement of teacher capability.

- This is a system-building role, not a traditional training or business role. The mandate is to create a rigorous, scalable teacher development framework and take it through initial implementation to demonstrate measurable improvement in classroom practice and student outcomes.

- The role combines academic depth with execution capability translating pedagogy and learning science into practical, classroom-ready systems.

There are two clear mandates:

- Core (Immediate): Build and manage the teacher development component of the Tvisha pedagogy (Grades 6-9), including baseline assessment, continuous evaluation, and targeted remediation of teacher capability.

- Build (Strategic): Design the system with the potential to evolve into a broader teacher assessment and development offering over time.

At the core of the framework will be two dimensions:

- Subject Matter Expertise

- Pedagogical and Attitudinal Disposition

The role requires active engagement with schools, educators, and training institutions to ensure the system is grounded in real classroom needs and current gaps in teacher capability. The role will build and lead a team required to design and deliver the teacher development system.

The system must be designed for scale, with a target of deployment across 1000+ schools within the next 3 years.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teacher Assessment System:

- Design and implement baseline and continuous teacher assessment frameworks

Build evaluation models covering:

- Subject mastery

- Pedagogical effectiveness

- Attitudinal and behavioural disposition

- Develop classroom observation and performance tracking systems that are objective, scalable, and tech-enabled

2. Remediation & Development:

- Build structured, outcome-driven remediation frameworks

- Design individualized teacher development journeys

- Develop targeted interventions for content and pedagogical gaps

3. Training & Certification

- Design modular, scalable teacher training programs

- Build a tiered certification framework with clearly defined competencies

- Develop blended delivery models (in-person, digital, classroom-embedded)

- Identify and build partnerships with leading academic and teacher training institutions to validate and strengthen the credibility of the teacher assessment and certification framework.

4. Teacher Performance & Student Outcomes

- Define frameworks to measure teacher impact on student learning

Establish clear metrics linking:

- Teacher capability improvement

- Student comprehension, retention, and application

- Build models to attribute student learning outcomes to teacher effectiveness and classroom practice using technology.

5. Research & System Refinement

- Conduct field research through school visits and stakeholder interactions

- Benchmark best practices and continuously refine frameworks using data and feedback

- Ensure the system is scalable and adaptable across K-12 contexts

Expected Outcomes (612 months):

- Operational teacher assessment remediation training certification system in Tvisha classrooms (Grades 69)

- Demonstrable improvement in teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes

- Clear, data-backed linkage between teacher performance and student outcomes

- A scalable K-12 teacher development framework ready for broader deployment

Candidate Profile:

- Mandatory: M.Ed or Ph.D in Education (or closely related field) with a Bachelors / Masters degree in any STEM field

- 10-15+ years in teacher training / academic leadership in K-12

- Proven experience designing teacher assessment and development systems

- Demonstrated ability to translate academic frameworks into implementable, classroom-ready solutions

- Experience working closely with schools and classroom environments preferred

The employee will be based in Bangalore and will report to the CEO of the Company. The position is a full-time role and office-based. There is no provision for working from home. The job will require travel.
