Head - Taxation - Goods & Services Tax

A leading financial services organization is looking to hire a Head - Taxation for its corporate office. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and positioned one level below the CFO in the organizational hierarchy.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the overall taxation function, including GST, direct and indirect tax compliance, tax planning, regulatory reporting, and tax assessments/litigations. The role will also involve driving the organization's tax strategy, governance framework, and ensuring adherence to evolving tax regulations.

The candidate will work closely with senior leadership, regulatory bodies, auditors, and external advisors to ensure robust tax compliance while optimizing the organization's tax position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the entire taxation function for the organization.

- Ensure GST and direct/indirect tax compliance across the business.

- Manage tax assessments, audits, notices, and litigations with regulatory authorities.

- Provide tax advisory and strategic inputs to senior management.

- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory tax requirements.

- Liaise with external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities when required.

- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulatory frameworks and drive implementation.

Candidate Profile:

- 15+ years of experience in taxation.

- Strong expertise in GST and direct/indirect taxation.

- Experience in financial services industry (AMC / Banking / NBFC / Insurance / BFSI) preferred.

- Experience in handling tax strategy, compliance, and litigation matters.

- Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
