Description:
This pivotal role as Head of Taxation for our Automobile division in Mumbai demands a seasoned professional to lead and oversee all taxation matters, ensuring compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and mitigating risks. You will collaborate closely with finance, legal, and operational teams, as well as external consultants and tax authorities. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the company's tax policies, driving efficiency in tax processes, and ultimately contributing to the overall financial health and strategic objectives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring optimal tax efficiency for the organization.
- Oversee all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, including income tax, GST, customs duties, and other applicable taxes, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage tax audits and assessments, representing the company before tax authorities and effectively resolving tax-related issues.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on tax implications of business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the company and implementing necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and consistent tax reporting and compliance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for tax optimization and savings, contributing to the company's profitability and financial performance.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in direct and indirect taxation, including tax planning, compliance, and litigation.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Strong understanding of Indian tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 10-20 years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably within the automobile industry.
- Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
