Job Purpose:

To strategically lead and manage supply planning and distribution functions, ensuring seamless demand forecasting, supply alignment, inventory optimization, and efficient distribution operations. Drive supply chain transformation and digital initiatives that enhance operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business resilience, enabling the organization to meet growth and profitability goals through effective cross-functional collaboration and leadership

Functional Responsibilities:

1. Planning

- Lead demand forecasting, supply planning, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes to align supply with market demand.

- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and procurement to ensure production plans meet customer and regulatory requirements.

- Monitor inventory positions and financial implications to optimize working capital.

- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review forecasts, capacity, and operational challenges.

- Implement tools and analytics to improve planning accuracy and responsiveness.

2. Inventory Management

- Oversee inventory control across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize stock-outs or excesses.

- Define and maintain inventory policies including safety stock, reorder points, and cycle counts.

- Drive initiatives to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste aligned with regulatory compliance.

- Manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely supply and quality.

- Monitor and report on inventory KPIs to senior management.

3. Logistics and Distribution

- Manage end-to-end domestic and international logistics, including transportation, freight forwarding, and customs compliance.

- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with freight carriers, logistics service providers, and 3PL operators.

- Negotiate contracts and pricing based on volume trends and market benchmarking.

- Optimize distribution network design for cost efficiency and service level improvements.

- Monitor shipment performance, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction metrics.

4. Warehousing and Operations

- Oversee warehousing operations including receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch functions.

- Drive digitization efforts such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), automation, and real-time visibility tools.

- Lead the transition and management of third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships.

- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and safety standards within warehouse facilities.

- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and labor productivity.

5. Supply Chain Transformation and Leadership

- Lead supply chain transformation initiatives to enhance end-to-end process integration and digitization.

- Build supply chain resilience through supplier diversification, risk management, and contingency planning.

- Foster a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.

- Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, mentoring leaders and promoting collaboration.

- Drive adoption of advanced technologies like AI/ML for forecasting, order management, and supply chain analytics.

- Manage key supply chain KPIs encompassing cost, service levels, inventory, and digital adoption.

- Communicate supply chain strategy and performance to senior leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.

- 15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare supply chain roles.

- Proven expertise in demand-supply planning, inventory control, global logistics, warehousing, and distribution.

- Strong leadership experience managing multifunctional supply chain teams.

- Knowledge of supply chain software (ERP, IBP, TMS, WMS) and digital transformation tools.

- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

- Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance and quality standards.
