Head - Supply Chain & Warehouse Operations - Paints/FMCG/Building Materials

Role Overview:

As the Head of Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations, based in Pune, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of our supply chain, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, production, and finance, to ensure seamless operations and meet customer demands effectively. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall supply chain performance, directly impacting customer satisfaction and business profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with overall business objectives to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

- Lead and manage all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and distribution of goods to meet customer orders promptly.

- Oversee inventory management processes, implementing best practices to minimize stockouts, reduce obsolescence, and optimize working capital.

- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across the supply chain, identifying and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.

- Manage logistics operations, including transportation, freight forwarding, and customs clearance, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

- Direct the Production Planning and Control (PPC) function, ensuring alignment between production schedules and customer demand to optimize resource utilization.

- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, logistics providers, and other vendors to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable service delivery.

- Implement and maintain robust stock management systems and procedures to ensure accurate inventory tracking and control.

- Develop and execute supply planning strategies to ensure adequate supply of materials and components to meet production requirements.

Required Skillset:

- BE, MBA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, with 15-20 years of experience in supply chain and warehouse operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies that drive business results.

- Proven expertise in managing warehouse operations, including inventory control, logistics, and distribution.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex supply chain challenges.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.

- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and technologies.

- Experience in contract negotiation and management.
