Job Description:
This position is a full time role with our global manufacturing client.
Purpose:
Execute end-to-end plant supply chain strategy to deliver world-class global customer service. Optimize plant capacity and material flow while minimizing working capital investment and logistics costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & S&OP:
- Align factory supply chain strategies with corporate objectives to navigate volatile (VUCA) global environments.
- Lead the monthly S&OP process to balance demand, plant capacity, inventory levels, and financial targets.
- Collaborate with global process management teams to implement digital and lean process improvements.
2. Demand & Manufacturing Planning:
- Own the monthly demand forecasting process in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and customer service team.
- Develop Master Production Schedules (MPS) to optimize plant machine utilization and manpower utilisation.
- Manage operational bottlenecks proactively to ensure high production plan adherence and mix-flexibility.
3. Sourcing, Inventory & Logistics:
- Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for timely raw material, component, and packaging availability.
- Evaluate supplier capacity and delivery risks through targeted on-site performance audits.
- Establish lean inventory policies (safety stocks, replenishment cycles) to improve Inventory Turn Ratios (ITR).
- Optimize inbound/outbound distribution networks, DM and IDM warehouse and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) workflows.
4. Customer Service & Team Management:
- Secure high global product availability and target on-time, in-full (OTIF) customer delivery performance (Broken Promise reduction).
- Build, coach, and empower a highly capable planning and operations team through active mentoring.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Commercial & Finance Alignment: Partners with Sales customer service to sync demand forecasts and customer requirements and prioritisation in shortage situation.
- Operational Execution: Coordinates daily with Manufacturing to resolve capacity bottlenecks and optimize plan adherence.
- Sourcing Synergy: Partners with Factory & Central Purchasing to secure raw material availability, mitigate vendor risks, and conduct supplier audits.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Customer Service Level / OTIF / Broken Promise Rate
- Inventory Turn Ratio (ITR) / Days of Supply
- Production Plan Adherence & Volume Flexibility (Flow KPIs)
- Forecast Accuracy (Product & Customer levels)
- Supplier On-Time Delivery (SDP)
- Logistics & Warehouse Cost as a % of Sales
Education & Certifications:
- Required: Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Preferred: MBA / PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management.
- Desirable: APICS (CPIM / CSCP) or CDDL certifications.
Experience & Competencies:
- Experience: 15+ years of supply chain planning experience within precision manufacturing.
- Systems: Strong proficiency in enterprise ERP systems and data analytics.
- Competencies: Lean leadership, strategic thinking, demand-driven planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
