Our client is seeking a seasoned E-Commerce Operations & Supply Chain Leader to own and scale end-to-end operations covering procurement, inventory planning, warehousing, fulfillment, last-mile delivery, and returns management. The role is accountable for service levels, cost optimization, scalability, and operational excellence across a fast-growing, multi-location e-commerce network.

This position requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can operate in high-velocity environments, drive data-led decisions, and build resilient, customer-centric supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

1. End-to-End E-Commerce Operations

- Lead inventory planning, warehousing, order fulfillment, last-mile delivery, and reverse logistics across regions.

- Ensure high service levels (OTIF, order accuracy, delivery TAT) and superior customer experience.

- Drive demand forecasting and S&OP in collaboration with commercial and marketing teams.

2. Cost Optimization & Unit Economics:

- Own and improve unit economics including fulfillment cost per order, logistics cost %, and inventory holding cost.

- Lead 3PL, courier, and vendor negotiations to deliver sustained cost efficiencies.

- Optimize network design, route planning, and capacity utilization.

3. Fulfillment & Warehouse Excellence

- Drive productivity, accuracy, and safety across fulfillment centers and dark stores.

- Implement best-in-class pick-pack-ship, slotting, automation, and manpower planning practices.

- Ensure SOP standardization, shrinkage control, and audit readiness.

4. Digital & Process Transformation

- Lead deployment and optimization of WMS, TMS, OMS, ERP, and real-time dashboards.

- Enable data-driven decision making through robust MIS, analytics, and exception reporting.

- Champion automation, process simplification, and scalable systems.

5. Vendor & Partner Management

- Manage strategic relationships with 3PLs, courier partners, packaging vendors, and technology providers.

- Monitor SLAs, conduct performance reviews, and mitigate operational risks.

- Build contingency plans for peak demand, disruptions, and seasonal volatility.

6. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Lead and develop large, multi-location operations teams across fulfillment, logistics, and planning.

- Build high-performance teams with strong accountability, training, and succession planning.

- Foster a culture of ownership, agility, and continuous improvement.

7. Growth, Scalability & Risk Management

- Support network expansion, new FC launches, and market entries.

- Plan for peak events (festive sales, flash sales) ensuring capacity, uptime, and service continuity.

- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply, demand volatility, and last-mile challenges.

Candidate Profile:

Experience:

- 12-20 years of experience in e-commerce operations, supply chain, or omnichannel logistics.

- Minimum 5-7 years in senior leadership roles managing large-scale fulfillment and logistics operations.

- Proven experience handling high order volumes, multi-location networks, and rapid growth environments.

Skills & Expertise:

- Strong understanding of e-commerce fulfillment models, last-mile delivery, and reverse logistics.

- Expertise in unit economics, cost optimization, and KPI management.

- Hands-on experience with WMS, TMS, OMS, ERP systems, and advanced analytics.

- Strong vendor negotiation, stakeholder management, and crisis-handling capabilities.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Operations / Supply Chain.

- MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics preferred.
