Job Summary: The Head of Supply Chain Management, Sourcing and Procurement is responsible for overseeing all sourcing and procurement activities required for both first article builds and ongoing production. This role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Planning, and Production to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of direct materials. The role also involves strategic supplier management, cost planning, and driving continuous improvements in supply chain operations. Educational Qualification / Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics). - 15-20 years of relevant experience in aerospace sourcing and procurement. - Proven experience working with global suppliers. - Exposure to manufacturing processes, part development, and tool design is preferred. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sourcing Strategy Development - Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organization's business goals. - Monitor industry and macroeconomic trends to reduce material costs and ensure quality, availability, and capacity. - Lead global commodity strategies including spend analysis, cost benchmarking, and technology trends. 2. Supplier Identification & Qualification - Identify and qualify suppliers to meet product and customer requirements. - Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments for qualification. 3. Business Support - Support the RFQ process by identifying cost-effective BOM sources. - Ensure timely creation and release of purchase orders in line with approval matrices. - Guarantee on-time material delivery during NPD/NPI and production phases. 4. Cost Reduction Initiatives - Lead supplier negotiations for favorable pricing and contract terms. - Improve working capital through extended payment terms, JIT inventory, and optimized purchasing cycles. - Drive initiatives to lower total landed cost. 5. Cost Planning - Develop part and tool cost estimations to support project decision-making. - Benchmark competitor costs and create internal costing references. - Maintain a database of supplier and part costs for strategic planning. 6. Continuous Improvement - Implement sourcing process improvements to reduce lead times and increase efficiency. - Utilize analytics for predictive and prescriptive decision-making in sourcing. - Enhance systems to support scale and volume growth. 7. Supplier Relationship Management - Build long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers to support company objectives. 8. Risk Management - Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including material availability and supplier performance. 9. Documentation & MIS - Regularly track and report sourcing KPIs, project progress, and provide MIS reports to management. 10. Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing team. - Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and foster a high-performance team culture. - Plan succession for critical roles within the team.
