We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head - Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain operations for a retail jewellery business. This role will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and secure handling of high-value inventory.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the jewellery industry, with a strong understanding of procurement, vendor ecosystems, inventory planning, and logistics, along with regulatory and security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership:
- Define and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business growth and operational objectives
- Lead end-to-end supply chain functions including procurement, planning, logistics, and distribution
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Develop and manage a robust vendor ecosystem including artisans, manufacturers, and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to optimize cost and quality
- Ensure ethical sourcing and compliance with industry standards
Inventory Planning & Control:
- Oversee inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment strategies
- Optimize stock levels across stores, warehouses, and distribution centers
- Minimize stock obsolescence, shrinkage, and working capital impact
Logistics & Distribution:
- Manage secure transportation and distribution of high-value jewellery products
- Ensure timely and safe delivery across retail outlets and channels
- Optimize logistics network for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to jewellery industry regulations, security protocols, and audit requirements
- Implement robust systems for tracking, traceability, and loss prevention
- Mitigate operational and supply chain risks
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Leverage data analytics, forecasting models, and dashboards to drive strategic decisions
- Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) and implement corrective actions
- Build reporting frameworks for leadership visibility
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing supply chain teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in end-to-end supply chain management
- Mandatory experience in the jewellery industry
- Strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, logistics, and vendor development
- Deep understanding of industry-specific regulatory, compliance, and security requirements
- Proven experience in handling high-value inventory and complex supply chains
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
