Role Overview:
The Head of SCM will lead and manage all aspects of the supply chain operations for our client. in Uttarakhand. This role involves strategic planning, vendor management, materials management, cost control, and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of materials to support production. The Head of SCM will collaborate closely with production, procurement, finance, and sales teams to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency, directly impacting the company's profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead and manage the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure favorable terms and reliable supply.
- Oversee materials management, including inventory control, warehousing, and logistics, to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Implement and maintain an ERP system to streamline supply chain processes and improve data visibility.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing leadership, coaching, and training to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to supply chain operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain processes and reduce costs.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies that align with business objectives.
- Proven expertise in vendor management, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Strong understanding of materials management principles, including inventory control, warehousing, and logistics.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems to manage supply chain processes and improve data visibility.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of cost control principles and techniques, with the ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 20-25 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
