Head of Supply Chain

Job Description

Role: Head of Supply Chain

Works closely with Manufacturing partners, RM vendors, Finance, Clinic Operations

Location: Mindspace - Malad, Mumbai

Experience: 9+ years in supply chain

About Gynoveda:

Gynoveda is building India's first Ayurveda fertility clinic chain for couples. We are creating a category - bringing the rigour of modern systems to Ayurvedic care, at scale, across our growing clinic network. Supply chain sits at the heart of that promise: every product a clinic prescribes has to be available, on time, every time.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Head of Supply Chain to own the entire journey of our products - from raw herbs, through our manufacturing partners, to the shelf in every clinic. This is a hands-on leadership role at an important moment for us.

Our manufacturing model has recently changed. We used to simply buy finished products from contract manufacturers. Today, we procure and own the raw materials ourselves (around 120 herbs) and work with a network of RM vendors and manufacturers to turn them into finished goods. This shift has made our supply chain more powerful, but also more complex - longer lead times, more quality checks, and more moving parts to coordinate.

Your job is to bring order, speed and control to this new model - so that clinics never run out of stock, product quality stays consistent, and costs stay under control. You will inherit a capable team and a clear picture of what needs fixing. Your first mandate is to make delivery seamless.

What You'll Own:

- Manufacturer & vendor coordination - Build strong, well-governed relationships with our manufacturers and raw-material vendors. Lock production plans and material timelines ahead of demand, and make sure no single manufacturer carries too much of our load.

- Faster delivery - Our raw-material-to-finished-goods cycle currently runs beyond 80 days. Your priority is to bring it down to under 60 days, so clinics are always stocked.

- Quality control - Lead our in-house QC team. Make sure every batch of raw material and finished goods meets specification, reduce quality deviations at source, and hold manufacturers accountable through proper checks and corrective actions.

- Stock & availability - Keep every clinic supplied. Own inventory planning, availability, accuracy, and days of stock across warehouse and clinics.

- Cost, COGS & working capital - Own how we calculate cost of goods, keep our stock and books reconciled, reduce raw-material wastage, and improve payment terms and cash flow with our vendors. (This role works closely with Finance.)

- Compliance - Work with our manufacturers to keep all product licences and certifications (AYUSH, GMP, drug licences and renewals) current and in order.

- Systems & knowledge - Own our supply-chain data, dashboards and reporting. Build a proper playbook so the function runs on process, not on individuals.

- Team leadership - Lead, grow and get the best out of the supply-chain team.

What We're Looking For:

- 9+ years of experience in supply chain, with time spent leading a function or a significant part of one.

- Background in Ayurveda, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, FMCG or a similar regulated, product-based business.

- Real experience working with external manufacturers and raw-material vendors - coordinating production, managing quality, and keeping things on time.

- Strong grip on the numbers: inventory, COGS, working capital, and the ability to work hand-in-hand with Finance.

- Understanding of quality control and compliance in a manufacturing setup.

- A builder's mindset - someone who fixes root causes, documents how things work, and doesn't rely on firefighting.

- Calm, clear and dependable under pressure, and able to bring the best out of a team.

Good to Have:

- Direct experience in Ayurveda or herbal manufacturing and raw-material sourcing.

- Familiarity with ERP systems (we use ERPNext) and building dashboards and MIS.

- Experience setting up quality and vendor-governance processes from the ground up.

Why This Role Matters:

This is not a maintenance job. You are joining at the point where our supply chain is becoming a real competitive strength - and you get to shape it. What you build here directly protects the promise we make to every couple who walks into a Gynoveda clinic: that their treatment will always be there when they need it.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:

We're realistic - some of the bigger goals take a few quarters. In your first 90 days, we'd love to see:

- You know our supply chain inside out - every manufacturer, vendor, product and where the real bottlenecks are.

- A clear, agreed plan to bring the raw-material-to-finished-goods cycle down to under 45 days, with the first improvements already showing.

- Clinic stock availability is stable and protected - no surprises, no stock-outs.

- Quality checks on raw materials and finished goods are tighter, and repeat deviations are trending down.

- The team has clear ownership, and the supply-chain playbook is taking shape so the function runs on process, not on any one person.

- You and Finance are aligned on how cost, stock and cash flow are tracked - with a plan to improve vendor terms.
