Role Overview :

The Head of Supply Chain will lead end-to-end supply chain operations for the mattress business, covering procurement, production planning, logistics, warehousing, and distribution. The role is responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, timely availability of materials, smooth plant operations, and reliable delivery to customers and channels across India.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership:

- Define and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with business growth, capacity expansion, and demand plans

- Lead supply chain teams across planning, procurement, logistics, and warehousing

- Drive continuous improvement in cost, service levels, and operational efficiency

Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Lead sourcing and procurement of raw materials (foam, fabric, springs, coir, chemicals, packaging, etc.)

- Develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiations, contracts, and rate finalization

- Ensure quality, cost optimization, and continuity of supply

- Identify alternate suppliers and manage supply risks

Planning & Production Coordination:

- Own demand forecasting, supply planning, and production planning

- Coordinate closely with manufacturing plants to ensure optimal capacity utilization

- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

- Reduce stock-outs, excess inventory, and obsolescence

Logistics & Distribution:

- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including primary and secondary transportation

- Manage distribution to warehouses, distributors, retailers, and D2C customers

- Optimize freight costs, delivery timelines, and last-mile efficiency

- Monitor logistics partners and ensure SLA adherence

- Warehousing & Inventory Management

- Manage warehouses and depots across regions

- Ensure proper inventory controls, accuracy, and system discipline

- Implement best practices in storage, handling, and dispatch

Process, Systems & Compliance:

- Drive use of ERP / planning systems for forecasting, procurement, and inventory

- Establish SOPs, controls, and MIS dashboards

- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality standards

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chains (FMCG / consumer durables preferred)

- Expertise in procurement, logistics, and planning

- Cost optimization and vendor negotiation skills

- Ability to manage multi-location operations across India

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations (MBA preferred)

- 12-18+ years of experience in supply chain roles, preferably in mattress, furniture, foam, FMCG, or consumer durables

- Proven experience leading procurement, planning, and logistics teams

- Experience working with pan-India distribution networks
