Description:


The incumbent will lead the end-to-end Supply Chain function for the Thermal Power Plant - overseeing procurement, materials management, vendor development, logistics, distribution and warehousing.

The role involves strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and quality supply of equipment, raw materials, and services required for large-scale thermal projects.

This is a leadership position requiring strong technical-commercial understanding thermal power plant systems and the ability to align the supply chain with the companys project execution timelines and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Strategic Supply Chain Leadership


- Define and implement the Supply Chain Strategy for the thermal division - aligned to business goals, plant operations, and project timelines.

- Develop and execute category strategies for critical items.

2) Procurement & Contracts


- Lead CAPEX and OPEX procurement for thermal power projects (Boiler, Turbine, Generator, BoP, etc.).

- Develop comprehensive contracting frameworks (EPC, LTAs, rate contracts, AMCs).

3) Vendor Development & Management


- Build and nurture a robust supplier ecosystem for boiler pressure parts, steel structures, fabrication, and instrumentation.

- Qualify and develop strategic vendors for domestic and global sourcing.

- Drive vendor performance reviews, audits, and compliance with QHSE standards.

4) Materials Management & Logistics


- Lead materials planning, inventory control, and warehouse management for the plant and project sites.

- Manage logistics for heavy equipment. Optimize working capital and ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery performance.

Experience:


- 15+ years of experience in supply chain / procurement for thermal power plants, boiler manufacturing, or heavy engineering sectors.

- Exposure to both project-based procurement (for new plants / expansion) and plant operational procurement (spares, consumables, maintenance).

- Strong familiarity with BTG systems, BOP, and utility systems.

- Knowledge of regulatory norms, import/export procedures, vendor qualification, and quality systems.
