Job Title: Head - Strategy (location - Mumbai)
Reporting to: Managing Director Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience (10-15 years, in consideration with/ without B-school) Industry: Pharmaceuticals Packaging / Glass Packaging / Pharma Equivalent / Injectable Packaging
Role Overview
This is a critical leadership role in shaping the long-term direction and commercialization roadmap of the company. It will involve close collaboration with senior management and functional heads to shape the growth roadmap, oversee strategic initiatives, evaluate business opportunities and ensure operational alignment with the companys vision and investor expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Formulation & Execution
- Develop 3-5 year strategic roadmap, informed by market intelligence (domestic & export), sector trends, competitor benchmarking, and investor goals.
- Identify and evaluate growth levers, new formats, product lines, geographies, and or M&A-driven expansion.
- Develop customer-centric programs, product portfolio strategies, and commercial initiatives.
Investor & Stakeholder Management
- Engage with partners and leadership with insightful, data-backed investor decks and materials.
- Collaborate in KRA/KPI design to align with investor benchmarks.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor emerging technologies, legislative impacts (e.g., sustainability, digitalization), and packaging trendsmirror role expectations in glass pharmaceutical packaging.
- Develop market sizing, segmentation, and opportunity maps to inform product and GTM decisions.
Strategic Operations & Performance Management
- Implement dashboards and business reviews; co-own Goals & Targets with Production, Sales, Commercial, Supply-chain, Finance teams.
- Monitor cost-to-serve, operational productivity, margin optimization, and scalability readiness.
Cross-functional Leadership & Transformation
- Spearhead strategic initiatives such as digital & ERP/ SAP rollouts, CAPEX investments, talent retention, ESG/sustainability drives and lean transformations.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, QA/Regulatory to translate strategy into execution.
M&A, Alliances & Partnerships
- Translate strategy into impactful initiatives including M&A, joint ventures, and new market` entry.
- Source, evaluate, and conduct diligence for acquisition/investment targets in business relevant areas).
- Lead deal structuring, negotiation, and integration, ensuring value capture and innovation pipelines.

- Successful execution of strategic projects and initiatives.
- Revenue growth and profitability improvement.
- Market share expansion and entry into new territories.
- Quality of strategic business cases and return on investment.

Qualifications & Experience
- MBA from top-tier institution; STEM (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) undergrad preferred.
- Minimum 10 years in strategy or corporate development, ideally in packaging-focused pharma/ glass/ adjacent hardware sectors.
- Preferable industry exposure to pharma, packaging, specialty materials, or glass.
- Proven track record in driving business and product strategies, new market development, and cross-functional execution.
- Exceptional analytical, financial modelling, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful corporate strategies.
