Role Overview:
The Head - Strategy role is a critical leadership position responsible for shaping and driving the overall corporate strategy of the organization. This role involves working closely with the executive leadership team, business unit heads, and external consultants to identify growth opportunities, assess market trends, and develop strategic plans to achieve the company's long-term objectives. The Head of Strategy will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company remains competitive, innovative, and well-positioned for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate the company's overall corporate strategy, aligning it with the organization's vision and goals, to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, threats, and opportunities, informing strategic decision-making.
- Lead the strategic planning process, working collaboratively with business unit leaders to define strategic priorities, set targets, and allocate resources effectively, to maximize return on investment.
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, conducting due diligence and financial modeling to assess their feasibility and potential impact on the company's growth trajectory.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing regular updates to the executive leadership team, to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
- Communicate the company's strategy effectively to internal and external stakeholders, building consensus and fostering alignment across the organization, to drive successful execution.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to business units, helping them to develop and implement their own strategic plans, to achieve their specific objectives and contribute to the overall corporate strategy.
- Manage and mentor a team of strategy professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities, to build a high-performing and engaged team.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement successful corporate strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Proven expertise in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights.
- Extensive experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy roles, preferably within the infrastructure, energy, or real estate sectors.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a top-tier business school is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience in Corporate Strategy or Strategy Consulting (Tier 1 Strategy Consulting Firms)
