There is an opening with a leading Pharma company based at Hyderabad for Head Strategy in Emerging Markets BU Purpose: To lead the Overall Strategy planning process for Emerging Markets' business which includes Long range planning, Strategic initiatives, Growth ideas, Performance diagnostics, and Competitive intelligence for about 33+ markets Responsibilities: Build/Drive Emerging Markets' long term strategy - Establishing and setting country wise aspiration (Rank, Share, Topline) through FY30 - Healthcare and Pharma market assessment and deep-dive, long range trends, analysis of emerging regulations, competitive assessment - Design strategic planning and framework for the business considering current capabilities and future growth aspirations - Collaborate with country heads to develop strat plan with 5-7 years' visibility in terms Space identification/sizing/selection (where to play including [Therapy area, channels, Portfolio choices] Design/identify SMART moves (how to win) with market facing KPI's for each of the moves along with clear delivery responsibility matrix (Move owners) - Articulate the strategy to internal stake-holders in correct and consistent manner - Facilitate allocation of near team - resource & budget decisions in line with strategic plan - Periodic monitoring and reviews of the plans and ensure course correction if required - Drive translation of strategic planning outcomes into planning guidance for other functions (e.g., manufacturing, R&D) Ensure Strategy execution and review - Co-coordinate with country leads to convert each of moves into projects/ (strategy deployment process) SDP's for easy implementation and KPI tracking. - Anchor tracking process for each of the project/ SDP at predefined frequency - Network and have regular dialogue with various stakeholders and other strategy teams/ BU's for any proactive course correction requirements in strat plan at Business/ region level. - Continuously evaluate and monitor Strategic initiatives (New commercial models, Data and Digital initiatives, Innovation etc.) - Work with various markets' leadership team and internal experts to ideate, evaluate, assess ideas beyond current scope of business (e.g., new markets to enter, new channels, new partnerships to form, new capabilities etc) - Anchor Initiatives/projects of various scope & scale basis business needs - Once these are launched, monitor the progress on these initiatives - Anchor strategic discussions/collaborations with research partners/ vendors/ teams, not only on specific products/ideas but on a wider/ greater/ deeper collaboration Deliver competitive intelligence - Guide and review the collection and analysis of market and competitor data from secondary sources/databases (IQVIA, Comcon, DRG, Global data etc.). - Identify themes and guide projects for competition bench marking based on strategic business requirement. - Build outside in perspective in all the strategic decision making processes - Understand business environment trends and work with markets' to build appropriate measures - Analyse the internal and external business environment for Business/Regions. - Drive active study and tracking of trends/ shifts related to business, healthcare, regulatory, distribution, manufacturing policies for all the key markets. - Custom analysis of new markets to understand healthcare/ pharma industry/ therapy/ channel specific enablers/ disablers, entry barriers and explore entry opportunity and strategic fitment to arrive at GO/NO GO recommendations and go to market strategy as applicable. Strategic investments - Create resource allocation guidelines across business and functions - Identifying long term areas of capability building in line with the Strat plan and ensuring time bound budgeting and funding for them: Marketing, Sales, Medical, Digital, Strategy, SFE, Analytics, Competitive intelligence, Training People management - Conduct goal setting, performance appraisals and mentoring/coaching for own team members; collaborate with HR in manpower planning, recruitment activities and identifying training needs of team members; - Provide training to team members on new processes when required to maximize retention and performance of team members Mandatory Skills - Strong business skills, Strategic think through of a problem from multiple dimensions and creatively looking at solutions, ability to tell a build a story and present it by building compelling business documents - Strong data analytics and interpretations skills, Strong communication, presentation & interpersonal skills, Connecting and influencing various stakeholders. - Connecting and influencing various stakeholders, demonstrated ability to connect diverse data sources to draw key insights and picking up market shifts and trends. Proven expertise in business modelling & analytics, Cross functional team working - Understanding of Pharma business, Pharma market, channels, TA's etc. Base level medical / clinical understanding on Pharma products - Should be a Self-starter and with a strong drive and ability to deliver value - Ability to work with multiple functional teams in DRL
