Currently there is an opening for The Head - Strategy & Policy (Special Projects - Defence) role based in Delhi. It will drive strategic initiatives, policy formulation, and transformation programs across defence and aerospace domains. The role will focus on enabling organizational growth, supporting national defence priorities, and leading high-impact, multi-stakeholder projects including government, armed forces, and global OEM partnerships.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Strategy Formulation & Execution :

- Lead development of long-term strategy for defence and aerospace business aligned with national priorities and organizational vision

- Drive growth roadmap across core, adjacent, and emerging defence segments

- Identify and build a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities (including high-value programs and partnerships)

2. Policy Advisory & Government Engagement :

- Lead engagement with key government stakeholders including Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and regulatory bodies

- Contribute to formulation of defence policies, indigenization strategies, and sectoral frameworks

- Provide strategic inputs on national programs such as localization, Make in India, and defence modernization

3. Special Projects Leadership :

- Lead and program-manage large, complex, and multi-phase strategic projects in defence and aerospace

- Drive cross-functional coordination across internal teams, government bodies, and external partners

- Ensure timely execution, governance, and delivery of high-impact outcomes

4. Defence & Aerospace Domain Leadership

Provide expertise across :

- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) operations

- Supply Chain & logistics optimization

- R&D and innovation frameworks

- Indigenous manufacturing and localization strategies

- Support defence forces and PSUs in improving operational readiness and efficiency

5. Business Development & Partnerships :

- Identify strategic partnerships with global OEMs, defence contractors, and technology providers

- Lead market entry and expansion strategies, including JV/alliances and localization planning

- Evaluate new business opportunities in emerging defence technologies and platforms

6. Transformation & Organizational Development :

- Lead large-scale transformation initiatives including restructuring, corporatization, and capability building

- Drive operational excellence and performance improvement programs

- Establish governance frameworks for effective decision-making and execution

Key Deliverables / Success Metrics :

- Development and execution of long-term defence strategy

- Successful delivery of large-scale strategic and policy projects

- Creation of high-value opportunity pipeline (multi-million/billion scale)

Required Qualifications & Experience :

- Education: MBA / Postgraduate from Tier-1 institute (preferred)

Experience :

15+ years with strong background in:

- Strategy consulting / corporate strategy

- Aerospace & Defence sector

- Government advisory / policy work

Core Competencies :

- Strategic thinking and visionary leadership

- Strong understanding of defence ecosystem and policy landscape

- Program management of complex, multi-stakeholder projects

- Stakeholder management (Government, Armed Forces, OEMs)

Preferred Experience :

- Experience with defence organizations, PSUs (e.g., HAL, OFB), or global aerospace companies

- Prior involvement in national-level policy development or transformation programs

- Exposure to international defence collaborations and localization initiatives.
