
Head (Site/ Factory/Unit) - Chemical Industry
Provides strategic leadership to oversee all plant operations, including production, safety (EHS), quality, and supply chain, to meet profitability and efficiency goals. This senior role requires managing P&L, implementing technical improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Direct end-to-end manufacturing operations, optimizing processes to maximize output while minimizing wastage.
EHS & Compliance:
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols, ensuring 100% compliance with regulatory standards (pollution control, ETP, safety licensing).
P&L Management:
- Own the site budget, managing operational costs (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) to drive cost-effective operations.
Process Improvement:
- Implement technological advancements, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performance workforce, overseeing talent development and labor relations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with R&D, supply chain, and corporate leadership to align site objectives with overall business strategy.
Qualification And Experience:
1. Bachelor's in chemical engineering with 15-20 years in chemical manufacturing, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager/Site Head).
2. Deep knowledge of unit operations (distillation, hydrogenation), hazardous chemical handling, and plant utilities.
3. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, P&L management, crisis management, and expertise in safety regulations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Production yield and volume targets.
2. Site safety record (zero accidents/incidents).
3. Cost per unit reduction.
4. Regulatory compliance status.
5. Employee engagement and retention rates.
