Job Title : Head - Sales Strategy & Transformation

Location : Chennai

Experience : 20+ years

Role Overview :

- We are looking for a seasoned business leader to head the Sales Strategy & Transformation function for a large, diversified industrial enterprise. This is a high-impact, enterprise-level role responsible for reimagining the sales organization, driving commercial excellence, and enabling sustainable, profitable growth.


- The role requires a blend of strategic vision, operational rigor, and transformation leadership, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities :

Enterprise Sales Strategy :

- Define and drive enterprise-wide sales strategy aligned to long-term business objectives

- Partner with leadership to identify growth opportunities across geographies, segments, and channels

- Lead strategic planning, including annual operating plans and long-range growth roadmaps

Sales Excellence & Governance :

- Build and institutionalize a robust sales excellence framework across businesses

- Drive standardization of sales processes, pipeline management, forecasting, and performance metrics

- Establish governance mechanisms to improve sales discipline, productivity, and accountability

Sales Transformation :

- Lead large-scale transformation initiatives including digitalization, CRM implementation, and analytics adoption

- Re-engineer sales processes to improve efficiency, customer experience, and speed-to-market

- Drive cultural change towards data-driven and performance-oriented sales practices

Commercial & Profitability Levers :

- Strengthen pricing strategies, margin management, and discount governance

- Drive key account management and strategic customer engagement models

- Unlock cross-selling and integrated solution selling opportunities

Capability & Leadership Development :

- Build a future-ready sales organization through leadership development and capability-building programs

- Mentor senior sales leaders and create strong succession pipelines

- Foster a high-performance, customer-centric culture

Stakeholder Engagement :

- Act as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team

- Collaborate with marketing, finance, supply chain, and digital teams to drive integrated execution

- Influence and align multiple business units towards common sales excellence goals

Candidate Profile :

- 20+ years of experience in sales, commercial strategy, or business leadership roles

- Strong experience in industrial/manufacturing/B2B environments

- Proven track record of leading large-scale sales transformation and change initiatives

- Experience managing multi-business or multi-geography sales organizations

- Deep expertise in sales excellence frameworks, CRM systems, and analytics-driven decision-making

- MBA or equivalent from a reputed institution preferred
