Role Overview:
We are seeking a visionary Head of Business Development & Sales to drive revenue growth and establish strategic partnerships. This founding role combines sales leadership with business development to identify new revenue streams, build strong relationships, and execute high-impact go-to-market strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing sales organisation; define sales culture and best practices
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies
- Identify and pursue strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities
- Lead enterprise sales cycles, negotiations, and long-term deal closures
- Establish sales processes, CRM workflows, and performance metrics
- Build B2B and B2C sales channels; explore innovative revenue models
- Design customer success and retention frameworks
- Create sales collateral, pitch decks, and supporting materials
- Represent the organisation in meetings with clients, partners, and industry leaders
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to leverage customer insights
- Manage sales budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and performance dashboards
- Recruit, coach, and mentor sales team members
- Drive business development initiatives and ecosystem partnerships
- Support investor communications and fundraising preparation
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in sales and business development
- Minimum 4+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams
- Proven track record of building sales organisations from scratch
- Success in closing enterprise deals and driving strategic partnerships
- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship-building capabilities
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or B2B services (preferred but flexible)
- Excellent communication, pitching, and presentation skills
- Data-driven mindset with strong understanding of sales metrics
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Indian markets and the startup ecosystem
- Experience in AI, analytics, or enterprise software
- Strong understanding of partnership models and ecosystem building
- Previous founder/leadership experience
- Experience with ARR, SaaS revenues, and subscription models
- Familiarity with investor pitch materials and fundraising
- Knowledge of multiple sales models (inside sales, enterprise, channel, etc.)
