Head Sales - FMCG

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership:

- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with global objectives.

- Drive revenue growth through effective pricing, promotions, and portfolio management.

- Lead Joint Business Planning with key customers and partners.

Market Expansion & Route to Market:

- Identify and develop new markets and channels across Africa.

- Optimize Route to Market strategies tailored to regional dynamics.

- Lead distributor evaluation, selection, and contract finalization.

P&L and Budget Management:

- Own regional sales budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets.

- Maximize ROI across categories and channels.

- Monitor and manage trade investments and advertising spend.

Customer & Distributor Management:

- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key customers and distributors.

- Ensure compliance with trading terms and regulatory requirements.

- Drive Perfect Store execution and in-store excellence.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-country sales team.

- Foster cross-functional collaboration and engagement.

- Build succession plans and develop key talent.

Market Intelligence & Innovation:

- Analyze competitor activity, market trends, and trade insights.

- Collaborate with marketing on product launches and category development.

- Drive innovation and renovation to grow market share.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education:

- Masters degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field.

Experience:

- 12+ years in FMCG sales, with 1 to 6 years in senior leadership roles.

- Proven success in managing regional sales across Africa.

- Strong experience in food and beverage categories.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strategic thinking and execution

- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management

- Export and distributor management

- P&L ownership and financial acumen

- Multilingual (English, French, Arabic preferred)

- High cultural adaptability and global awareness
