Head of Sales and Business Development (Water Treatment)

Responsible for creating and executing sales strategies to increase revenue and market share. Leading the sales team, building customer relationships, analyzing market trends, and developing both new and existing business opportunities, often with a focus on industrial applications like industrial, municipal, and institutional markets. Key responsibilities include managing the full sales cycle, building customer and partner relationships, setting sales targets, and overseeing market analysis and reporting. The role requires technical knowledge of water treatment chemicals and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales strategy and leadership:

- Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market penetration across India & overseas.

- Lead and mentor the sales team to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

- Identify growth opportunities in municipal, industrial, and institutional segments.

Business development:

- Identify new business opportunities, develop new markets, and build strategic partnerships.

- Build and expand the customer base in the water treatment industry.

- Establish key partnerships with OEMs, EPC contractors, and large industrial clients.

- Identify and tap into emerging markets and trends in water treatment solutions.

Customer relationship management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders.

Market analysis:

- Monitor market trends, analyze competitor pricing, and track sales data to inform business decisions and forecasts.

- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.

- Provide regular market feedback and sales forecasts to senior management.

- Ensure adherence to credit policies and support in collections from key accounts.

Technical support:

- Provide technical expertise to customers regarding water treatment applications, products, and solutions.

Forecasting and reporting:

- Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reports to management.

Financial management:

- Manage budgets and monitor creditworthiness to ensure timely collections.

Collaboration:

- Work with marketing and service departments to ensure alignment and seamless customer experience.

Qualification And Experience:

1. BSc or BE Chemical Engineering with an MBA in Marketing & having experience of 15-20 Years in water treatment chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, biocides, RO chemicals, etc.)

2. A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

3. Strong sales, leadership, and account management skills.

4. Proven ability to achieve sales targets.

5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands quickly and effectively

6. Experience building relationships with key clients and stakeholders

7. Experience in trade shows a plus

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

9. Strategic thinking and business acumen

10. Customer-focused approach and excellent negotiation skills

11. Good communication, negotiation, inter-personal and presentation abilities

12. Proficiency in sales and CRM software.
