Role Overview
The Sales Head will lead the sales, marketing, and business development initiatives for biomass and bioenergy machinery across India. This role requires a strategic leader with strong industry connections, proven ability to drive revenue growth, and experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and acquiring new clients across target industries
- Develop and execute sales strategies for biomass and bioenergy machinery
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Expand market presence across regions in India
Client Acquisition ("Hunting")
- Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities
- Build a strong pipeline of leads and convert them into long-term clients
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team
- Set sales targets, KPIs, and performance benchmarks
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members
Marketing & Strategy
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create go-to-market strategies
- Position products effectively in the biomass/bioenergy sector
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs
P&L Management
- Own and manage the Profit & Loss for the assigned region/business unit
- Ensure revenue targets and profitability goals are met
- Optimize cost structures and improve margins
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years in B2B sales of biomass, bioenergy machinery, or industrial equipment
- Proven track record in business development and revenue generation
- Strong network within biomass, renewable energy, or industrial sectors
- Demonstrated experience in team building and leadership roles
- Experience handling P&L responsibilities
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel extensively across India
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Energy, or related field)
- MBA in Sales/Marketing (preferred)
- Experience in renewable energy or sustainability-driven industries
