Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and result-driven Sales & Marketing Head to lead the growth of our D2C food brand across e-commerce platforms, quick commerce channels, and offline touchpoints like Modern Trade, etc. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in digital marketing, e-commerce sales, marketplace management, quick commerce partnerships, and brand building and growing. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive top line growth, build strong customer acquisition funnels, and create sustainable brand loyalty for a start-up environment.

The candidate must be fluent in Telugu, Hindi & English languages and knowing additional South Indian languages is added advantage.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

- Develop and execute the sales strategy, own end-to-end sales performance for D2C (own website), marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, etc.), and quick commerce platforms (Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, etc.).

- Build, develop and manage strategic partnerships & relationships with key account managers of e-commerce and q-commerce platforms for better visibility, exclusive launches, and promotions.

- Drive monthly sales targets, ensure revenue growth, and optimize sales mix across channels.

- Drive P and L responsibility for online sales, ensuring sales targets, contribution margins, and growth metrics are met.

- Identify and on-board new sales channels including modern trade and B2B food partners.

- Optimize product listings, pricing strategies, and promotions across all platforms to maximize revenue.

Marketing & Brand Building

- Own and execute 360 brand marketing strategy digital campaigns, influencer collaborations, PR, offline activations, and customer engagement.

- Drive brand positioning, storytelling, and customer engagement to differentiate in a competitive food & beverage market.

- Drive performance marketing (Meta, Google, Affiliate, SEO/SEM) to acquire and retain customers.

- Monitor consumer insights, competitor activity, and category trends to shape campaigns.

- Conceptualize and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and community engagement.

- Oversee content creation (photography, video, product storytelling) tailored for D2C, e-commerce, and q-commerce.

- Plan and manage ATL/BTL campaigns, PR initiatives, and product launch strategies.

- Develop strong customer loyalty and retention programs (CRM, email marketing, WhatsApp marketing, subscription models).

E-Commerce & Quick Commerce Execution

- Ensure seamless order fulfilment, visibility, availability, and execution on marketplaces and q-commerce platforms.

- Manage growth levers such as sponsored ads, banner placements, visibility campaigns on platforms.

- Drive data-driven decisions using analytics dashboards (Google Analytics, Shopify, platform dashboards, etc.).

- Analyse customer buying behaviour and optimize pack sizes, pricing, bundling, and repeat purchase strategies.

- Ensure seamless cataloguing, pricing, promotions, and reviews management.

- Improve search rankings, visibility, and conversion rates on partner platforms.

- Negotiate banner placements, deal visibility, and platform promotions with category managers.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with founders, supply chain, production, and finance teams to align sales & marketing goals with business objectives.

- Build and mentor a high-performing Digital Marketing, Supply Chain and Customer care/support team for both online and offline channels.

- Set clear KPIs for sales, marketing ROI, and customer acquisition cost (CAC) vs. lifetime value (LTV).

- Establish weekly dashboards, Prepare monthly and quarterly business performance reports for leadership and founders/investors.

Qualifications & Experience

- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).

- 8-12 years of experience in sales & marketing, with at least 3-5 years in D2C/E-commerce/Quick Commerce (preferably Food/FMCG category).

- Strong track record of scaling D2C brands and achieving revenue growth targets.

- Deep understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce operations, and quick commerce dynamics. Strong grasp of brand building, consumer behaviour, and growth marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, etc.).

- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills.

- Entrepreneurial mind-set with ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up ecosystem.

- Experience in a start-up/early-stage company will be an added advantage.
