Head of Sales & Marketing (Alcoholic Beverages)
The Employer:
The Employer is a new startup with interests in a range of alcoholic beverages, mainly white and brown spirits. It manufactures, imports and distributes its products in different markets through multiple channels including retail, HORECA and trade marketing and is building dedicated teams of sales and marketing professionals in all target global markets. It is looking for a dynamic professional to join the team as:
Location: Mumbai, India
Key Responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing plans to enhance brand visibility, increase sales, and strengthen relationships with both retail and trade channels.
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and sales across retail and on-trade channels.
- Design and implement promotional activities.
- Manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for maximum ROI.
- Build and lead sales and brand teams to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.
On-Trade Management:
- Build strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and hospitality venues (hotels, bars, restaurants).
- Develop and execute channel-specific promotional campaigns to increase market penetration.
- Ensure effective placement and visibility of products through strategic merchandising.
Market Analysis & Performance Tracking:
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of sales and marketing initiatives using KPIs and market data.
- Prepare regular reports on sales and marketing effectiveness and provide recommendations for optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with operations, supply chain and other teams to ensure smooth execution of marketing activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An MBA with specialization in Sales/Marketing/Operations would be desirable.
- Must have : 12-15 years of experience in sales and marketing, within the alcoholic beverages industry.
- Willingness to work in an early stage venture
- Strong sales and marketing leadership skills covering strategy, execution, operations and team building
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong skills in analyzing sales data and market trends to drive business decisions.
- Experience in planning and executing trade promotions activities.
- Leadership skills. Prior exposure to start-ups highly desirable.
- Resourceful. 24/7 availability. Positive, "Can Do" attitude.
- Business savvy. Entrepreneurial flair.
