B2C Road Logistics Head - Secondary and Tertiary Logistics

Role Overview:

The B2C Road Logistics Head will lead and optimize the secondary and tertiary road logistics operations for our B2C business in Kolkata. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire last-mile delivery ecosystem, from strategic network design and route optimization to efficient freight management and vendor partnerships. You will collaborate closely with internal sales, operations, and supply chain teams, as well as external logistics partners, to ensure seamless, cost-effective, and timely delivery of products to our customers. Your leadership will directly impact customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall profitability of our B2C supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement robust secondary and tertiary logistics networks, ensuring optimal reach and service levels for B2C customers across the region.

- Drive advanced route optimization strategies utilizing technology and data analytics to minimize transit times, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance delivery efficiency.

- Manage end-to-end freight operations, including carrier selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and cost control, to achieve best-in-class service at competitive rates.

- Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer-centricity.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with 3PLs and transportation partners, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and exploring innovative solutions for last-mile delivery.

- Implement and leverage logistics technology solutions, such as TMS and tracking systems, to gain real-time visibility and improve operational decision-making.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance, cost, and customer satisfaction, taking proactive measures to address deviations and drive improvements.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies, mitigating risks across the logistics operations.

Required Skillset:

- Proven expertise in managing large-scale B2C road logistics operations, specifically within secondary and tertiary distribution networks.

- Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement, and optimize last-mile delivery processes, significantly impacting customer experience and operational costs.

- Strong proficiency in freight management, including vendor negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation for diverse transportation modes.

- Advanced analytical skills with a track record of utilizing data for route optimization, network design, and identifying efficiency gains.

- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience mentoring and developing logistics professionals.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at collaborating with internal teams and external partners to achieve shared objectives.

- A postgraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field from a premier institution is highly desirable.
