Head of Retail Operations
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Strategy & Expansion:
- Develop and execute the India retail operations strategy aligned to business goals and customer expectations
- Support the Expansion team during planning
- Monitor fashion retail trends and competitor activity to stay ahead in the market.
Store Operations & Performance:
- Drive excellence across all aspects of store operations including sales, service, execution, efficiency and compliance
- Deliver seamless and high-impact customer experience across all touchpoints including support for omni-channel integration
- Align the visual merchandising function with brand guidelines to enhance store impact and commercial outcomes
- Implement effective in-store promotions and sales-driving initiatives.
Team Leadership & Culture:
- Lead, coach and develop the retail leadership team, building a strong succession pipeline
- Create a performance-driven culture through clear KPIs, consistent reviews and feedback mechanisms
- Ensure all store-level operations adhere to company policies, brand guidelines and governance frameworks
Customer Experience:
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure continued differentiation and customer relevance
- Analyze and improve customer feedback, NPS, and conversion rates.
Financial Management:
- Own the retail P&L monitoring budgets, forecasts and performance metrics, implementing timely interventions to ensure commercial success
- Create a performance-driven culture through clear KPIs, consistent reviews and feedback mechanisms
- Ensure all store-level operations adhere to company policies, brand guidelines and governance frameworks
Collaboration & Integration:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Brand, People, Digital and Finance to align retail strategy with the broader business
- Drive operational efficiencies through process simplification, system improvements and cost optimization
Requirements:
- Bachelors/masters degree in Business, Fashion Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in retail operations, ideally with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the fashion/apparel industry.
- Deep understanding of fashion retail cycles, merchandising, and consumer behavior.
- Proven success in scaling retail networks and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen, data orientation, and operational discipline.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to store locations regularly.
- Strategic, commercial mindset with focus on customer, profitability and consistency
- Proven experience in leading large, distributed store teams with a focus on performance and capability building
- Strong P&L ownership - planning, forecasting, financial controls
