Role Overview:

India's leading online investment platform offering mutual funds, equities, fixed income, and other wealth management solutions to retail and HNI clients.

The Head of Research will lead the firm's mutual fund research and investment strategy - driving fund selection, asset allocation insights, and product recommendations to strengthen the Company's position as a trusted investment research destination.

This role requires deep expertise in mutual funds and capital markets, combined with the ability to communicate insights effectively to retail investors through a digital-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mutual Fund Research & Strategy

- Define and execute the company's mutual fund research framework across categories (equity, debt, hybrid, international, thematic).

- Build and refine fund selection and rating methodologies integrating both quantitative and qualitative parameters.

- Conduct fund manager due diligence and maintain the Select Funds list.

- Develop asset allocation strategies for different investor segments and risk profiles.

- Oversee model portfolios, SIP recommendations, and thematic fund baskets available on the company's platform.

2. Market & Investment Insights

- Develop macroeconomic and market outlooks to guide fund positioning and client communication.

- Publish regular research reports, fund reviews, and market updates for investors and advisory teams.

- Provide inputs for portfolio review tools and advisory algorithms on the company's platform.

3. Thought Leadership & Investor Education

- Represent company's investment perspectives through blogs, webinars, podcasts, and media appearances.

- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create educational content on mutual funds, SIPs, and asset allocation.

- Establish the company as a research-led, investor-first mutual fund distribution platform.

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration

- Lead and mentor a team of analysts specializing in different mutual fund categories.

- Partner with advisory, product, and technology teams to integrate research insights into client portfolios and digital tools.

- Uphold research governance, transparency, and compliance with SEBI and AMFI norms.

5. Data, Analytics & Innovation

- Use data analytics to monitor fund performance, investor outcomes, and portfolio trends.

- Identify emerging investment themes and opportunities in the mutual fund space.

- Leverage technology to enhance fund recommendation engines and research delivery on the platform.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Postgraduate in Finance, Economics, or related discipline; CFA, MBA (Finance), or CFP preferred.

- 12-18 years of experience in mutual fund research, fund selection, or investment strategy, preferably in wealthtech, AMC, or distribution platforms.

- In-depth knowledge of Indian mutual fund industry, asset classes, and investor behavior.

- Proven experience in leading research teams and articulating investment views across public forums.

- Strong interest in digital distribution, technology-enabled research, and investor education.
