Key Responsibilities:
Research Leadership & Strategy:
- Establish and lead the research agenda for the firm across private markets and global alternatives.
- Define and implement frameworks for evaluating funds, deals, managers, and themes.
- Build differentiated thought leadership to position the company as an authority in private markets investing.
Market & Thematic Research:
- Track and analyze macroeconomic, sectoral, and regulatory trends impacting private markets.
- Develop thematic and sectoral reports (e.g., technology, healthcare, consumer, infra, ESG) to guide investment sourcing and client education.
- Identify emerging global and regional investment trends to shape product pipeline.
Manager & Deal Evaluation:
- Lead diligence on GPs, funds, secondaries, and co-investment opportunities.
- Create detailed investment notes, risk assessments, and benchmarking analysis.
- Oversee database and proprietary frameworks for manager evaluation.
Client & Internal Engagement:
- Partner with product, distribution, and investment teams to translate research into actionable opportunities.
- Present research insights to clients, family offices, and wealth partners via webinars, roundtables, and reports.
- Provide ongoing updates and thought pieces to drive client engagement and education.
Team Development:
- Build and manage a high-performing research team with domain expertise.
- Mentor analysts and associates, fostering analytical excellence and innovative research practices.
- Collaborate with technology teams to integrate research with data, analytics, and digital platforms.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 12-18 years in investment research, strategy, or advisory, preferably within private markets, private equity, venture capital, or alternatives.
- Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of private equity/VC funds, secondaries, co-investments, and private credit.
Skills:
- Proven ability to lead research agendas and publish high-impact thought leadership.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exposure to portfolio modeling and benchmarking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence clients and stakeholders.
- Education: MBA, CFA, CAIA, or equivalent advanced finance qualification preferred.
