Job Title : Head Research

Job Purpose :

We are seeking a highly accomplished professional to lead the Research function for one of India's leading broking houses the role demands strong leadership, analytical depth, and the ability to translate research insights into actionable strategies that support business growth and enhance client value.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Formulate and drive the overall research vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities.

- Identify high-growth sectors, emerging investment themes, and market trends to expand research coverage.

- Lead the development of advanced research tools, models, and frameworks to improve market forecasting and investment recommendations.

- Establish the firm's thought leadership in the capital markets through differentiated insights and high-quality publications.

Research Management:

- Oversee end-to-end research activities across equities, macroeconomics, and derivatives.

- Ensure timely publication of detailed company reports, sector outlooks, thematic studies, and market updates.

- Review and approve all research materials to maintain accuracy, objectivity, and compliance with SEBI Research Analyst regulations.

- Drive consistency, analytical rigor, and innovation in all research outputs.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Partner with Institutional, Retail, and Product teams to deliver research-driven client engagement and advisory support.

- Represent the organization in market forums, investor conferences, and media platforms as a thought leader.

- Strengthen relationships with institutional clients, fund managers, and key industry stakeholders.

- Support the Sales and Advisory teams with strategic insights to enhance business performance.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:

- Ensure strict adherence to SEBI Research Analyst guidelines and all relevant regulatory frameworks.

- Uphold transparency, integrity, and ethical standards across the Research division.

- Implement internal governance protocols for quality assurance and conflict-of-interest management.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Lead a team of sector analysts and strategists; set performance goals and monitor outcomes.

- Build a strong research talent pipeline through mentorship, capability development, and career progression initiatives.

- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and accountability.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Deep understanding of capital markets, equity valuation, and macroeconomic linkages.

- Expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting.

- Proven ability to produce strategic insights that influence investment decisions.

- Strong communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.

- High professional integrity, analytical precision, and commercial awareness.

- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Refinitiv (Reuters), and other leading financial data tools.

Educational Qualifications:

- MBA (Finance) / Chartered Accountant (CA) / Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.

Experience:

- 12 to 18 years of experience in Equity Research or related financial domains.

- Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience heading or managing a Research function in the Broking or Financial Services industry.
