Head - Research & Development - Fans

Role Overview:

An opportunity to lead R&D and Design for the Fans category in a fast-growing consumer durables organization, driving innovation in BLDC and premium fan technologies. Key Responsibilities:

Product Design and Technology Development

- Lead design and development of fan products with expertise in BLDC motors, mechanical systems (kinetics, angles), and electronics.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, procurement) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

- Drive innovation in energy efficiency, performance, and durability.

Cost Control and Optimization

- Develop cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality or performance.

- Identify opportunities for material substitution, process improvements, and design simplification.

Market Study and Benchmarking

- Conduct market research and competitor benchmarking to identify emerging trends and technologies.

- Ensure alignment of product portfolio with market expectations and brand positioning.

Vendor Development

- Collaborate with vendors for component development, prototyping, and testing.

- Build strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and scalability.

Qualification

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (MBA preferred).

Experience

- 8-15 years of experience in R&D and product design, with a focus on consumer durables/electrical appliances.

- Proven expertise in BLDC motor design, mechanical systems, and electronics integration.

- Ability to translate market insights into innovative product designs.

- Excellent vendor management and collaboration skills.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.

- Familiarity with CAD tools, simulation software, and product testing methodologies.
