Head - Research & Development - Biotech

- The role is responsible for defining and executing the technical roadmap for the assigned category in alignment with overall business objectives.

- This includes analysing market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify innovation opportunities within the nutraceuticals ingestible category.

- The position will oversee end-to-end product development and lifecycle management, including standard extraction and purification processes as well as the development of new delivery platforms across multiple formats, while ensuring full compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality benchmarks.

- As a technical leader, the role will provide guidance to cross-functional teams across R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and cost efficiency.

- The incumbent will collaborate closely with suppliers, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery and access to advanced materials and solutions. Additionally, the role involves building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing technical team, fostering a strong culture of innovation and technical excellence.

- It involves up to 30% travel, and reports directly to the Chief of Operations.

- To succeed in this role, candidates must hold a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant technical field, have 15+ years of experience in product development, technical management, or category leadership, possess strong expertise in nutraceutical ingestible, and demonstrate proven ability in managing complex projects, leading cross-functional teams, and engaging stakeholders with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
