Head - Research & Development - Biopolymer

Head R&D - Biopolymer:

Reporting Manager: Site Head

- Lead R&D and pilot-scale initiatives for Bio-polymer formulations and value-added guar derivatives.

- Collaborate with QA, and application teams to develop products for target industries (food, pharma, oil & gas, textile, paper, cosmetics, etc.).

- Evaluate emerging technologies and raw material alternatives to strengthen the product portfolio.

- Manage product trials, scale-up, and commercialization timelines from concept to launch.

- Define the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Biopolymer business unit in alignment with overall company goals.

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cross-functional team across production, R&D, and business development.

- Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations across all operations.

- Report business performance, market trends, and growth opportunities to senior management/board.

Operations & Production Management:

- Oversee and optimize biopolymer production and processing operations, ensuring quality, yield, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

- Lead manufacturing operations for Bio-polymer and derivative products, ensuring adherence to safety, quality (ISO/FSSC/GMP), and environmental standards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) across production lines to enhance throughput and reduce operational costs.

- Manage plant capacity planning, capex proposals, and technology upgrades for derivative processing units.

Technical Expertise:

- In-depth knowledge of biopolymer production processes, derivatization, and downstream processing.

- Strong understanding of Bio-polymer production technologies and applications.

- Hands-on experience in new product development, scale-up, and commercialization.

- Familiarity with regulatory, quality, and safety standards applicable to specialty chemical/polymer manufacturing.
