Role Overview:
The Head Regulatory & Process Compliance (Retail Liability) role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies related to the bank's retail liability products and processes.
This role involves collaborating closely with various internal teams, including product development, operations, technology, and risk management, as well as external regulatory bodies. The Head of Regulatory & Process Compliance plays a vital role in safeguarding the bank's reputation, minimizing regulatory risks, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the retail liability business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive regulatory compliance framework for retail liability products, ensuring alignment with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory requirements, assess their impact on the bank's retail liability business, and communicate these changes effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential gaps or weaknesses in existing processes and controls.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance policies.
- Manage regulatory examinations and audits, coordinating the preparation of responses and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that new retail liability products and services are designed and launched in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of compliance-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance-related matters, acting as a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of regulatory compliance and any emerging risks.
- Manage and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal controls within the retail banking sector.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to business processes.
- Strong understanding of retail liability products and services, including deposit accounts, loans, and payment systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of compliance professionals.
- Experience in managing regulatory examinations and audits.
- Strong financial reporting knowledge.
- Minimum of 16-25 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit roles within the banking industry.
- Relevant certifications in compliance or risk management are preferred.
