Quantity Surveying (QS Engineer Head) - Real Estate Firm ABOUT THE CLIENT: - Our client is a prominent real estate developer established over a decade ago specializing in delivering engineered homes with a focus on quality construction, customer satisfaction, and timely delivery. ABOUT THE ROLE: - The Head of Quantity Surveying will lead and manage the QS team, overseeing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, contract management, and cost control for construction projects. - This role ensures that projects are delivered within budget, meeting quality and compliance standards, while maximizing value for the company. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead and mentor the QS team across multiple projects. - Establish best practices, processes, and systems for QS and contract management. - Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients. - Cost Planning & Estimation - Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and budgets for projects. - Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements for cost accuracy. - Monitor and update project budgets throughout execution. - Contracts & Tendering - Oversee tendering processes including bid evaluation, negotiation, and awarding of contracts. - Draft, review, and manage contractual agreements with subcontractors and vendors. - Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. - Cost Control & Reporting - Track project costs against budgets, ensuring timely corrective actions. - Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements. - Implement value engineering and cost optimization measures. - Risk & Compliance - Identify, assess, and manage financial risks in projects. - Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and safety guidelines. - Resolve contractual and commercial disputes. CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE: - Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying. - 12+ years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role. - Strong knowledge of construction contracts.
