Description:


1. Quality Strategy & Governance:


Objective: Align quality vision with overall business goals


Key Responsibilities:


- Define quality vision, mission, and KPIs across the product lifecycle


- Establish and implement a robust QMS (ISO, BIS, internal standards)


- Set short-, mid-, and long-term quality goals


- Lead Management Review Meetings (MRM) on quality performance


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- Documented Quality Strategy & QMS framework


- ISO/BIS certification status


- Quarterly quality performance reviews


- High closure rate of MRM action items


2. Supplier & Incoming Quality Management:


Objective: Ensure high-quality incoming materials


Key Responsibilities:


- Implement IQC processes for critical components (motors, plastics, electronics)


- Conduct supplier audits and maintain quality ratings


- Deploy APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality agreements


- Drive supplier capability improvement initiatives


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- Incoming rejection rate < 1%


- Majority suppliers in preferred category


- Strong supplier compliance to quality agreements


- Reduction in repeat supplier defects


3. In-Process Quality Control:


Objective: Ensure defect-free manufacturing processes


Key Responsibilities:


- Define critical control points (CCPs) across production


- Implement SOPs, control plans, and work instructions


- Introduce Poka-Yoke (mistake-proofing) mechanisms


- Drive SPC and process capability improvements


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- Reduction in process defects (monthly trend)


- High audit compliance on shop floor


- Improved Cp/Cpk levels


- Measurable defect prevention through Poka-Yoke


4. Finished Goods Quality & Reliability:


Objective: Deliver high-quality, reliable products


Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct AQL-based inspections and final testing


- Drive first-pass yield improvements


- Execute product reliability and endurance testing


- Manage pre-dispatch and customer inspections


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- Final QC pass rate > 99.5%


- FPY > 95%


- Strong product reliability metrics (MTBF)


- Zero dispatch delays due to quality issues


5. Customer Quality & Field Feedback:


Objective: Integrate customer feedback into continuous improvement


Key Responsibilities:


- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for complaints and returns


- Collaborate with service teams to identify recurring issues


- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)


- Manage product recalls, if required


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- RCA closure within defined timelines


- Repeat complaint rate < 2%


- Effective field-to-factory feedback integration


- 100% compliant recall execution


6. Compliance, Testing & Certifications:


Objective: Ensure regulatory and safety compliance


Key Responsibilities:


- Ensure compliance with BIS and safety standards


- Manage in-house testing labs (mechanical, electrical, thermal)


- Handle audits and third-party inspections


- Lead product validation for new developments


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- 100% certified product portfolio


- Zero non-conpliance in audits


- High lab equipment uptime (>95%)


- Complete execution of validation plans


7. Cost of Quality & Continuous Improvement:


Objective: Optimize cost while improving quality systems


Key Responsibilities:


- Monitor and reduce Cost of Quality (CoQ)


- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM initiatives


- Lead cross-functional improvement projects


- Benchmark industry best practices


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- CoQ maintained below industry benchmarks


- Regular closure of improvement initiatives


- Achievement of project targets


- Continuous improvement maturity growth


8. Team Development & Quality Culture:


Objective: Build a strong quality-driven organization


Key Responsibilities:


- Develop and train quality teams (IQC, IPQC, QA, Labs)


- Conduct organization-wide quality awareness programs


- Define KRAs and performance review systems


- Promote cross-functional ownership of quality


Key Deliverables / KPIs:


- Training hours per employee


- High employee participation in quality programs


- Strong team performance against KRAs


- Increased cross-functional collaboration
