
Role Overview:
Quality is not simply a compliance requirementit is the foundation of trust. As Quality Control Head, you will lead the laboratory function that safeguards product quality, protects regulatory compliance, and supports operational excellence across manufacturing.
This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that every raw material, intermediate, packaging component, and finished product meets the highest standards of quality before reaching customers. Working closely with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, you will strengthen laboratory performance, champion scientific integrity, and foster a culture where quality is embedded in every decision.
The successful candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership and has a proven record of building high-performing laboratory teams within regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all Quality Control laboratory operations across chemical, instrumental, and microbiological testing, where applicable.
- Establish and maintain robust laboratory systems aligned with cGMP, GLP, and international regulatory expectations.
- Ensure timely testing and release of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, stability samples, and finished products.
- Review and approve analytical data, Certificates of Analysis, laboratory records, specifications, and technical reports.
- Direct investigations relating to Out-of-Specification (OOS), Out-of-Trend (OOT), deviations, atypical results, and laboratory incidents while ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Oversee analytical method validation, verification, method transfers, and lifecycle management.
- Manage stability programmes in accordance with ICH guidelines and regulatory commitments.
- Ensure laboratory instruments remain qualified, calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose throughout their lifecycle.
- Maintain complete compliance with data integrity principles and electronic laboratory systems.
- Lead regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal quality assessments with confidence and transparency.
- Develop laboratory quality metrics and use performance data to improve efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times.
Qualifications:
- Bsc/Msc/BE/B.TECH/B.Pharma/M.Pharma
- Additional qualifications in Quality Management or Regulatory Affairs are advantageous.
Experience:
- 12 - 18 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences Quality Control.
- At least five years leading laboratory operations or managing.
