HEAD OF QUALITY (GM/DGM/Sr. MANAGER) - Chemical Manufacturing

- Responsible for ensuring end-to-end product compliance and process excellence and optimizing quality systems, reducing manufacturing defects, and leading QA/QC teams for raw materials and finished products

- Ensure raw materials and finished products meet precise technical specifications and industry safety standards.

- Maintaining strict compliance, managing lab operations, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

1.Strategic Quality Planning and Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)

- Develop and implement robust QA/QC testing protocols for raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.

- Develop annual quality budgets and strategic roadmaps alongside top management to drive continuous improvement.

- Oversee laboratory testing operations, including chromatography (GC/HPLC), viscosity testing, color assessments, and acid value tests.

- Supervise the inspection and disposition of non-conforming products and investigate Out of Specification (OOS) results.

- Oversee the testing and validation of critical raw materials and finished products to ensure batch-to-batch consistency.

2. Process Improvement & Leadership:

- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to resolve customer complaints and internal production failures.

- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies across manufacturing shop floors.

- Lead, mentor, and train QA/QC staff.

3. Compliance & Regulatory:

- Ensure plant processes adhere to international quality standards, such as ISO 9001, and comply with environmental and health directives (REACH, RoHS).

- Maintain compliance with chemical management and safety frameworks (EHS, GMP).

- Manage documentation and prepare facilities for third-party audits and customer inspections.

- Spearhead audits for ISO certifications (ISO 9001), environmental standards, and global safety guidelines (REACH, RoHS).

4. Defect Prevention & Troubleshooting:

- Utilize tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5S, and Six Sigma to reduce waste and prevent process anomalies.

5.Cross-Functional Leadership:

- Partner with the Production, R&D, and Supply Chain departments to resolve customer complaints and enhance product formulations.

6. Team Development:

- Train and mentor QA/QC staff on inspection protocols, technical troubleshooting, and laboratory safety.

Qualification And Experience:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering with 12 to 20 years of progressive QA/QC experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or polymer compounding industries, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership/.

2. Deep knowledge of polymer additives, chemical compounding, and modern laboratory instrumentation.

3. Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control.

4. Attention to detail Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws and pose solutions to those flaws.

5. Strong problem-solving abilities, cross-functional leadership, and proficiency in statistical process control (SPC).

6. Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.

7. Interpersonal skills Ability to handle stress.

8. Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards.

1. Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ): Reduction in the percentage of defective batches, rework, and scrap.

2. Customer Complaints: Minimal customer returns and successful resolution of quality-related disputes.

3. Audit Readiness: 100% compliance score in internal and external regulatory/customer audits.

4. On-Time Delivery (OTD): Timely release of batch testing reports and QA clearances without delaying dispatch.
