Summary:

Head of Quality in the two-wheeler (2W) automobile industry who'll be responsible for defining and executing the overall quality strategy to ensure product reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards like IATF 16949.

The role involves leadership, strategic planning, process implementation, and continuous improvement across the entire product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategy and Leadership: Define and implement the company's quality vision, policies, processes, and procedures to align with business objectives and customer expectations.

- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of the QMS, ensuring compliance with relevant legal, safety, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).

- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee quality activities from new product conception and design through manufacturing, testing, and warranty analysis.

- Process Monitoring and Improvement:

- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.

- Analyze quality data, including testing results, field failures, and performance metrics, to identify trends and drive improvements.

- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues and lead problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Why, Fishbone analysis).

- Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA): Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming components and raw materials meet specified standards, conduct regular supplier audits, and manage supplier improvement plans.

- Customer Satisfaction: Handle customer complaints, investigate quality issues, and implement effective countermeasures to reduce customer Parts Per Million (PPM) defects and warranty costs.

- Auditing and Documentation: Oversee internal and external audits and maintain comprehensive QA documentation, test results, and compliance reports.

- Team Management and Training: Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the quality team and other staff members on quality standards and best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or a related field is typically required.

Experience: Significant experience (typically 10-20+ years) in quality management within a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or 2W industry.

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, quality tools, and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC).

- Certifications: Quality control certifications such as Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent are often preferred.

Skills:

- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

- Excellent analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.

- Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
